چکیده

There is an increase in demand for high-quality rock melon the local market. Supplementing salt with a nutrient solution viable approach that can be implemented to improve fruit quality. Therefore, this study aims determine best treatment utilized quality without reducing growth, yield, and physiological process. The conducted by grafting (DAG) melon/bottle gourd at 18 days four sources of salinity: basic (BNS) (2.5 dS m-1), sodium chloride (NaCl) (50 mM) + BNS (7.1 potassium nitrate (KNO3) high strength (NS) m-1). plants were arranged randomized complete block design (RCBD) replications. Salinity induced using KNO3 sustained most growth variables, quality, relative water content, leaf gas exchange compared control. However, applying NaCl NS could sustain all processes components, such as total soluble solid sugar-acid ratio Fruit weight had reduced regardless salinity than those grown control their respective reduction 28.8%, 28.26%, 27.72%. To conclude, incorporating 50 mM feasible applied on grafted even though reduced. It due measured, capable sustaining processes, provides lower cost, easily accessible other salinity.

The genome of melon (Cucumis melo L.).

We report the genome sequence of melon, an important horticultural crop worldwide. We assembled 375 Mb of the double-haploid line DHL92, representing 83.3% of the estimated melon genome. We predicted 27,427 protein-coding genes, which we analyzed by reconstructing 22,218 phylogenetic trees, allowing mapping of the orthology and paralogy relationships of sequenced plant genomes. We observed the ...

Transcriptome analysis of the oriental melon (Cucumis melo L. var. makuwa) during fruit development

BACKGROUND The oriental melon (Cucumis melo L. var. makuwa) is one of the most important cultivated cucurbits grown widely in Korea, Japan, and northern China. It is cultivated because its fruit has a sweet aromatic flavor and is rich in soluble sugars, organic acids, minerals, and vitamins. In order to elucidate the genetic and molecular basis of the developmental changes that determine size, ...
